House with a dreamlike view

The house has a great location in a quiet and relaxed residential area, 15 minutes by car to Porto Vecchio and 10 minutes to the dreamy sandy beach of Palombaggio. We especially liked the beautiful view from the terrace of the sea and the bay of Porto Vecchio.

Phenomenal view

We had a great stay!
The accommodation was clean and quiet and just like in the photos, with this phenomenal view from the terrace being unbeatable.
Everything you need is available. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the mattresses were very comfortable. Communication with the landlord was hassle-free.
We felt at home and would love to come back.
Definitely recommended!
P. S. At the nearby diving school Hippocampe (German-speaking), you can dive and snorkel great.

Great country house

We spent a wonderful 7 days in this beautiful house in August. It was exactly as we had imagined. The pool is super nice for relaxing, spacious rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen… 1 bedroom has air conditioning - the other two do not. But at night, you can sleep excellently with the window open as the location is very quiet. We (2 adults and 2 kids) and my in-laws loved it. Matti was a great host with great communication beforehand - really wonderful ?

Which sights are there in Porto Vecchio?

Sights around your holiday home

The region has a lively history to show. Numerous traces from the past can be found around the town in the south of Corsica. In the historic old town, you can admire a typical citadel for the area. It is largely well preserved and impresses with an imposing gate, Porte Genoise. This gate was once the only access from the harbor to the city and was well guarded. In the summer months, no cars are allowed to drive in the inner area, which is ideal for a relaxed stroll through the many small shops and restaurants. Visit the Saint Jean Baptiste Church and let the delightful flair of the island affect you. In the harbor district, there is a well-developed yacht and ferry port. Here you can watch the boats entering and leaving and perhaps book a tour to a neighboring beach or Capri. For a hiking holiday, an excursion to the Col de Bavella, a picturesque mountain pass in the Corsica Regional Nature Park, is worthwhile. From here, you can visit the Trou de la Bombe or the Virgin Mary statue Notre Dame de la Neige.

What do you need to experience in Porto Vecchio?

Highlights for your time on Corsica

Santa Giulia is considered the most beautiful beach here. It boasts turquoise blue water and a well-protected location, making it perfect for families with children. The dream beach is located a little south of the resort and can be easily reached on foot from your villa or private apartment. Plage de Rondinara is also beautiful. A particularly worthwhile excursion is a trip from your affordable holiday home to Bonifacio, which is only a few kilometers away from your holiday region. The town is situated on the southern tip of the island and towers high above the water on white chalk cliffs. In the sandstone coast below Bonifacio, the sea has washed out numerous caves that invite exploration by boat. Tonnara, Santa Manza, and the white sandy beach of Rondinara are suitable for swimming here. For pure romance, visit Ile Rousse in the north with its offshore reddish rocky islands. Numerous waterfalls make your personal adventure perfect. Plan a round trip from Porto Vecchio along the coast to admire the beautiful historical buildings on the Gulf. Some villas date from an earlier time and impress with their rustic charm. Many accommodations with a garden and WLAN in the idyllic region await you.

What can you experience in Porto Vecchio with children?

Relaxed family holiday in Porto Vecchio

Rent a beautiful villa with modern facilities and several rooms or an apartment with a swimming pool if you want to spend your holiday here with the whole family and pets. Almost every holiday home is equipped with modern facilities and offers you an ideal base for a hiking holiday in Porto Vecchio or a beach holiday. From the villa, you can take beautiful excursions to the beaches: The water at Plage de Palombaggia is particularly calm and suitable for snorkeling. The Cala Rossa has an interesting reddish color. Start hiking tours from your domicile through the mountains into the Alta Rocca. On the La Chiappa peninsula, numerous sporting activities are offered. You can surf, sail, hike, dive, and participate in fitness courses. At the ranch, well-groomed horses and ponies await their riders. Take tours along the coast or through the Maccia. The Mini Club with a pool offers fun and games for the little ones, who are lovingly cared for here.

Where can I eat out in Porto Vecchio?

Original French food and drink

Whether at Santa Giulia, in a villa in the idyllic old town, or in the nearby villages - you will find hospitable restaurants everywhere, offering refined Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy the sea view from the terraces and try the local delicacies. Fine soups made from chestnut flour, roasted goat or lamb, and delicious vegetables enrich the menus. Fish dishes are, of course, not missing on an island. Sardines, tuna, bream, and crabs come from the Mediterranean. Mussels are only fresh to eat in the cooler season. If you like to cook yourself or want to have a barbecue party by the private pool, you will find everything you need at the local markets and shops. For breakfast with fresh rolls and delicately melting butter, homemade jams, and local honey are highly recommended. In Porto Vecchio, tasty liqueurs are also produced from wild fruits and garden fruits: Taste the fine spirits with fig flavor, myrtle, tree berry, or Cedrat fruit.

What is a must-see in Porto Vecchio?

Art and Culture for your holidays

Numerous historical sites can still be found on the Gulf today. From your apartment, visit the prehistoric Torrean sites. Explore the Monument de Torre and the Castellu di Arraghju, which is one of the oldest fortifications. The Tappa Fortress was probably built around 2200 BC and is now only visible in rudiments. If you enjoy visiting galleries and art exhibitions, you can find something to your taste in Corsica and almost every larger village on the island. The Galerie Ranaldi presents contemporary painters from the region who deal with the culture and history of the island. The cultural center offers a modern venue hosting theatre performances, concerts, and readings. The building is located not far from the harbor on Rue Fred Scamaroni. In Sartene, there is a museum of Corsican early history. Throughout the summer, you can experience outdoor events on the beach or listen to street musicians playing serenades.

How do I come to Porto Vecchio?

Arrival at the holiday home in Porto Vecchio

The holiday resort of Porto Vecchio is located on the island of Corsica in the Tyrrhenian Sea and has many dream beaches. You can reach your apartment or private house by car, plane, or public transport. The airport in Figari is only a few kilometers away. From here, flights depart to many European metropolises. For arrival by car or bus, use one of the ferries from the mainland. There are connections to the Italian mainland to Civitavecchia, Rome, or Naples. Alternatively, you can also cross from Genoa to Bastia and enjoy the journey along the coast to Corse-du-Sud with a magnificent view of Italy. You don't necessarily need a rental car. There is a well-developed network of bus routes that take you from your apartment to almost all sights and excursion destinations. Taxis and ferry connections between the coastal towns are also available. If you want to be sporty, you can rent a bike on site or bring it with you from home. All you have to do is book a holiday accommodation with modern facilities and WLAN, and your dream holiday can begin.
